TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM

Reformer & Mat Teacher Training

If you’ve ever dreamed of turning your passion for Pilates into a career-or want a deeper, more intelligent understanding of the method and the art of teaching, then this program was designed for you.

Our 200 hour modular Athletic Reformer and Mat Pilates Teacher Training is grounded in the classical method, with a strong emphasis on form, precision, and safe, effective movement. Trainees learn the full classical reformer order from beginner through advanced, including its origins and evolution, then expand into modern, athletic, and strength-driven variations that translate seamlessly to today’s group classes.

Knowing the exercises is only the starting point. This program is equally focused on developing you as a teacher. You’ll learn how to layer and progress classes intelligently, cue with clarity using both verbal and tactile techniques, connect with clients, work with choreography and energy, and confidently structure purposeful classes. Foundational anatomy is woven throughout the training, including the musculoskeletal system, joint function, movement patterns, common injuries, and special populations.

A defining element of this program is mentorship. We support trainees in discovering their own teaching style and voice—so you don’t graduate sounding scripted or generic. Guidance continues beyond certification, helping bridge the gap between training and real-world teaching.

Graduates of this program have gone on to teach at top studios in Los Angeles, New York, Conneticut, Texas and internationally, with alumni teaching across the globe.

Upon successful completion, you’ll graduate as a knowledgeable, confident, and well-rounded Pilates professional, equipped with a Reformer Pilates Certificate of Completion and the tools to teach with clarity, confidence, strength, and purpose.

TESTIMONIALS

Completing my Pilates Reformer and Mat certification at Village Life Pilates was an outstanding and deeply rewarding experience. From start to finish, the training was incredibly thorough, precise, and thoughtfully structured. Every aspect of the Pilates method was taught with clarity and intention, including detailed attention to injuries, special conditions, pregnancy, scoliosis, and individual body needs.

“The program was led by two highly knowledgeable, experienced, and well-educated instructors whose teaching was both clear and inspiring. Each movement was carefully broken down, not only in terms of execution, but also in how to teach it effectively and safely. Every session included time for students to practice instructing, refine cueing, and gain confidence through hands-on experience.

A strong foundation in anatomy was woven throughout the course, covering muscles, bones, and movement mechanics essential for responsible and intelligent teaching. The classes were engaging, creative, fun, and extremely informative, creating an environment that encouraged curiosity and growth.

What truly set this training apart was the supportive and open atmosphere. The instructors were generous, encouraging, and genuinely invested in their students’ success. The studio provided ongoing opportunities to practice, observe other instructors, and continue learning in a real teaching environment.

This certification gave me not only deep knowledge of the Pilates method, but also the confidence, support, and inspiration to step fully into my role as an instructor. I am truly grateful for this exceptional experience at Village Life Pilates.” Neda O.

Since completing the training, I have gone on to work at multiple studios across Los Angeles.” Sofia E.

“Village Life Pilates Teacher Training was such a positive and meaningful experience for me. I had so much fun learning with Dru, who is an incredibly talented, supportive, and nurturing teacher. She places strong emphasis on form and clear cueing while generously sharing thoughtful ideas for progressions and creative flows. The training felt encouraging and inspiring, and it gave me the confidence to find my own voice as a teacher. I highly recommend Village Life Pilates Teacher Training to anyone looking to become a Pilates teacher or just wanting to deepen their own practice.” Michelle L.

“What I respect about this program is how seriously it takes the craft. It’s built on a classical foundation, taught in an athletic way, and always focused on form and smart movement. You’re not trained to copy someone else—you’re guided to find your own voice as a teacher, with real mentorship that continues after certification. It creates instructors who are confident, capable, and ready to teach anywhere.” Ben J.

“I’m truly grateful for the Pilates teacher training program at Village Life Studios. From the very beginning, Dru and Sasha created such a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment. Their deep knowledge, dedication, and exceptional teaching made the entire experience inspiring and confidence-building. They took the time to ensure every detail was understood, combining professionalism with genuine care. Thank you, Dru and Sasha, for your incredible efforts, outstanding training, and perfect performance. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking for an exceptional Pilates education.” Sherri D.

Doing the Village Life Pilates teacher training was such a meaningful experience for me. The program is incredibly well thought out and challenges you in the best way, both technically and mentally, while still feeling supportive the entire time. I never felt rushed or lost, and I always felt encouraged to ask questions and really understand the work.

What stood out most was the environment. Sasha and Dru genuinely care, the community feels real, and there’s a strong emphasis on finding your own teaching style rather than forcing one “right” way. I left feeling confident, prepared, and excited to start teaching, with a much deeper connection to my body and my practice. I’m so grateful I chose VLP and would absolutely recommend it to anyone serious about becoming a Pilates instructor. Liv W.
